India has a 7,500 km long densely populated coast line, which is vulnerable to coastal floods, erosion and cyclones. The coastal states of India are increasingly facing environmental and socio-economic pressures exacerbated by global climate change and resulting climate variability.

The project Strengthening Adaptation Capacities and Minimizing Risks of Vulnerable Coastal  Communities in India (AdaptCap) aims at increasing knowledge, planning and adaptation capacities of coastal communities concerning climate change adaptation (CCA), disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change mitigation (CCM) in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, India.
